Nestled among willows and wildflowers, the Heron House is secluded luxury. The house has been furnished to the standards of a world-class luxurious home with great taste and enormous attention to detail. In particular, the house features numerous different woods; some reclaimed from under the Salt Lake, others reclaimed from Pennsylvania barns from the 18th Century; and many of the beams and woods in the house are over 200 years old. Every room is designed with its own character and point of view; every bathroom is different, and each is beautifully designed. The master bathroom has a gorgeous picture window overlooking the lake and wildlife. Another has a stone finish and the ambience of a Tuscany village house. The master guest bathroom has a freestanding Victorian style tub. Overall, this is one of the finest homes in the Jackson Hole Valley and visitors often comment that it is one of the most beautiful houses they have ever seen. In addition to being gorgeously appointed, it is very well structured from an amenities standpoint, having a private gym, two saunas, a game room and every possible combination of music and video entertainment in all rooms in the house.
Relaxing inside or enjoying the large decks that wrap the eastern south side of the home, one can observe the abundant wildlife and water fowl. Elk and Moose have been known to walk through the garden, a fox visits virtually every day and the stream, which is less than 50 feet from the house, is filled with ducks and other water fowl.
Every aspect of the house has beautiful views. The great room has a view towards the Grand Teton of the Teton Range. It also has a view of the Gros Ventre Range of the Rocky Mountains. The extraordinary grounds are wonderful for a quick stroll down to the lake and in the summer lightly prepared paths facilitate an evening stroll around the lake and back.
The property opens out directly into a delightful walk that leads through public access forest directly to the Snake River – a journey of approximately one-half mile. Easy access to the Teton ski area, the local Wilson shopping center and, of course, the town of Jackson add to the convenience.
The well appointed gourmet kitchen features a Thermador gas range with six burners, grill and professional exhaust hood. Complete with a butler’s pantry, large refrigerator and separate freezer, this kitchen is a chef’s delight. There is a quiet dining nook with bay windows perfect for afternoon tea.
The great room has a colossal double sided fireplace with luxurious seating designed to induce family chats or solo repose. Just on the other side of the fireplace is the dining room. Enjoy the gentle sputter of the fire while you dine and visit.
A sitting room, walled in barn wood, is equipped with a comprehensive entertainment system including a large flat screen TV; it is the perfect spot to catch a movie. Or perhaps unwind with a game of billiards in the game room. The options are endless in this opulent home.
The upstairs features a lofted music room including a Steinway piano. Sit and listen as the music dances to the great room open below. Also on the second floor are the four luxurious bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Three bedrooms have private balconies and the master bath also features a sauna, steam shower and jetted tub.
Located on 15 acres in the town of Wilson, this convenient location feels secluded without being too far from town.
